Art Walk

Join us on Friday, February 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm for the annual Art Walk. Residents and visitors are invited to watch live art demonstrations and view works from local and visiting artists in participating retail shops. Plus, enjoy live music as your stroll through the Village during the event.

Andell Inn will be hosting local Artographer, Mitch Schlimer. Mitch followed his other deep passion of photography, as consistently over the decades someone would say to Mitch, “your photos look and feel like paintings” and hearing that enough Mitch’s creative mind started calling and “positioning” himself an “Artographer” and his art “Artography”.

Bluemercury welcomes Score and Burn, a local laser artisan specializing in Lowcountry maps and architectural pieces.

Cantina 76 will be hosting Charleston wedding planner, Beth Thompson who specializes in custom watercolor invitations and maps, inspired by her love of paper and the magical way watercolor melts into its fibers.

Charleston Shoe Company will be hosting Amy Schwarz. Amy has been painting with oils since 2005. She enjoys painting a variety of subjects and especially enjoys painting beachscapes, oceanscapes and water. Her artwork reflects the things she loves in life.

First National Bank welcomes local photographer, Sam Kogan.

Holly & Brooks Will be hosting Amy Gaweda. Amy has always had a love for the arts, to include singing and playing the piano since childhood but it was not until later in adulthood that she discovered her love for oil painting. As a native of Wilmington, NC, she developed a passion for the ocean early in life, spending many summers of her youth at Wrightsville Beach. She enjoys photographing and oil painting Marsh, Sea, and Landscapes. She is captivated by the clouds in the sky as the Creator presents it. Amy now gathers most of her inspiration from scenes of the NC and SC coast, as well as, Seabrook and Kiawah islands, outside of Charleston South Carolina.

Imagine Home will be featuring the work of Heather MacQueen Jones, an artist who first discovered painting as a form of healing and later transformed it into a full‑time career. Trained in fine oil painting, she creates calming, meaningful pieces that bring a sense of sanctuary into the home. Today, she collaborates with designers, galleries, and homeowners to craft artwork that inspires joy and peace.

Johnny Was will be hosting Sherman Mack. He is a watercolor artist deeply inspired by coastal themes, bringing the beauty of the ocean and shore to life through his work. His paintings blend realism with intricate details, capturing the essence of each scene with precision and care. Each brushstroke reflects my emotions in the moment, as he layers warm, vibrant colors onto the canvas. Creating unique, meaningful pieces is his passion, and takes immense pride in sharing his love for the sea through his art. Johnny Was will be offering sips & treats along with a gift with purchase.

Kiawah Spirits welcomes Patricia Bisceglia and Molly Joseph from Molly Joseph Fine Art. A mother and daughter duo that have a local art business with prints and cards of Kiawah, Seabrook and areas of the Low country.

Kiawah Wines will be hosting artist, Daphne Hobson. It was the near death experience and long recovery from being hit by a taxi in NYC that lead her back to her first passion—painting. During this traumatic experience, Hobson decided to leave education and begin anew. She wanted to leave something personal behind for her grandchildren. That’s when she decided to become a portrait painter and began painting her grandchildren. Because Daphne loves color, drama, and movement, she is now experimenting with pastels. She finds the colors “brilliant and delicious.”

Lilly Pulitzer will be featuring the work of Charleston artist Hillary Repik, whose watercolor pieces reflect her love of nature, wooden spoons, rocks, and the charm of Maine.

LoveShackFancy will be hosting Lacey Designed who will be doing live painting during Art Walk and creating custom jewelry.

SeaCoast Sports and Outfitters is hosting John Walters of Witzel Art for the annual Art Walk. They will provide complimentary beverages. Bring your artistic eye to shop beautiful art and great apparel!

Southern Tide will be hosting Alicia Colella, a contemporary mixed media artist based in Charleston, SC, originally from Puebla, Mexico. Alicia specializes in pen and ink architectural renderings and acrylic landscapes, with work that beautifully captures the elegance of Southern charm and the serenity of the Lowcountry. A self-taught artist, Alicia’s journey began with childhood sketches and has grown into a passion for creating art that evokes peace, joy, and reflection.

Spartina 449 will be welcoming Sharon Durgom, a landscape artist based on Johns Island. Her captivating paintings showcase the charm and allure of our coastal environment. Sharon invites you to experience the magic of these landscapes and join her artistic journey as she explores the heart of Charleston. Discover the unique beauty of the low country through her vivid impressions.

StretchLab Kiawah will be hosting Sarah Banks Cabe of Cabe & Company, featuring her beautiful handmade beaded necklaces

TINA Stephans will be hosting Shellie Sweeney. Shellie has been working in watercolor for five years, with a primary focus in botanical work. She finds her inspiration in all things nature and is always looking for subjects that are unique.

Vineyard Vines welcomes local artist, Pat Huff! All of my her paintings represent her travels with loved ones and artist friends, or her time spent at home on the coast of South Carolina
