About Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach:
At Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Services, Inc. (OLMCOS) we believe in community first. For almost 30 years, we have assisted our neighbors in need, regardless of faith or creed, helping them achieve their desired path to self-sufficiency in partnership with over 360 volunteers and community agencies. We continuously work to address the root causes of poverty and create systemic change by providing basic and emergency resources, education, and specific health programs such as free dental and prenatal care, food, clothing and financial assistance, hot lunches five days a week at Neighborhood House in Downtown Charleston, and diverse educational opportunities like our afterschool and summer camp programs, money management, GED and ESL classes. We focus on the whole person; therefore, we wrap our services around clients and families wherever possible and where we can’t, we coordinate with broader community organizations to collaborate. It is our calling to be a part of collaborative solutions so that everyone in our community can thrive.
